Abstract:
Bazı yapı ve makine elemanları burulma momenti altında zorlanan elemanlardır. Bina kenar kirisleri, egri eksenli kirisler ve miller bu elemanlara bir kaç örnektir. Bu tür elemanlarda maksimum kayma gerilmelerinin ve birim dönme açılarının hesabı oldukça önemlidir. Elastisite Teorisinde sadece bazı kesitler için kesin sonuçlar elde edilmistir. Genel sekilli kesitlerin burulma hesabı ise sayısal yöntemlerin kullanılmasını gerektirir. Bunun yanında bazı arastırmacılar basit yaklasık yöntemler de gelistirmeye çalısmıslardır. Bu çalısmada genel sekilli dolu ya da bosluklu kesitlerin yaklasık burulma hesabı için bir model ve formulasyon sunulmustur. Ele alınan kesit iç içe kapalı tüplerin birlesimi gibi düsünülmüstür. Kapalı tüp kesitler için geçerli olan Bredt formüllerinden yararlanılarak ve denge ve uygunluk kosulları kullanılarak, maksimum kayma gerilmesi ve birim dönme açısını veren ifadeler elde edilmistir. Bu ifadeler çesitli dolu ve bosluklu kesitlere uygulanarak, sonuçlar Elastisite Teorisinde mevcut olan sonuçlarla karsılastırılmıstır. Bunlar, sunulan yaklasık yöntemin düzenli egrisel kenar sekline sahip kesitler için kesin degerleri verdigini, köseli kesitlerde ise açılara baglı olarak dogruluk derecesinin biraz düstügünü Some structural and machine elements are stressed under torsional moments. Building edge beams, curved beams and shafts are some examples to these elements. It is very important the calculation of maximum shearing stresses and angles of twist in these elements. Only for some cross-sections the exact values have been obtained in the Theory of Elasticity. The torsion calculus of generally shaped cross-sections required the using of numerical methods. On the other hand, some researchers have worked to develop simple approximate methods. In this study, an approximate model and a formulation have been presented for the torsion calculation of generally shaped cross-sections. The section has been considered the combination of a number of closed thin-walled strips one inside the other. Making use of the Bredt?s formulas which valid only for closed thin-walled sections, and using the equilibrium and compatibility conditions, expressions for the calculation of maximum shearing stress and angle of twist have been obtained. These expressions have been applied to various solid and hollow sections, and results compared with the results of Theory of Elasticity. These results have shown that the presented approximate method gives exact values for sections with regular curvilinear boundary, and for the cornered sections the level of accuracy of the method may be somewhat low.
