Abstract:
ÖZET Osmanlı Tarihinde Çelebi Mehmed Döneminin Siyasi Olayları Devlet Teşkilatı, İlim ve Kültür Hayatı Araştırmamızda, Yıldırım Bayezid ile Timur arasında vuku bulan Ankara Savaşı (1402) sonucu başlayan Fetret Dönemi'nin son bulmasından Çelebi Mehmed'in ölümüme kadarki yaklaşık sekiz yıllık saltanat süresini inceledik. Çelebi Mehmed Dönemi, Anadolu'da dağılmış birliğin tam olmasa da yeniden tesisi ve zayıflamış Osmanlı merkezi yönetiminin tekrar güç kazanması nedeni ile önemlidir. Kardeşleri ile mücadeleden zaferle çıkan Çelebi Mehmed, tüm gücünü Anadolu'da birliği sağlamaya ayırmıştır. Yine bu dönemde ortaya çıkan ve toplumu olumsuz bir şekilde etkilemiş olan Simavna Kadısı oğlu Şeyh Bedreddin Mahmud isyanı Çelebi Mehmed tarafından bastırılmıştır. Bunun yanında kültürel faaliyetlerden de geri durmayan Çelebi Mehmed, Rumeli ve Anadolu'da imar etkinliklerine önem vermiştir. Özellikle Edirne'nin alınmasından sonra etkinliği azalan Bursa'ya ayrı bir yer vermiştir. Barışçı, mücadeleci ve ileri görüşlü bir devlet adamı olan Çelebi Mehmed, yaptıkları ile `Osmanlı'nın İkinci Kurucusu' olma unvanı ile onurlandırılmış beşinci Osmanlı Padişahıdır. SUMMARY The Reign of Celebi Mehmed: Political Events, State Structure, Scientific and Cultural Life in the Ottoman History In this dissertation, we are examining the reign of Sultan Çelebi Mehmed which lasted eight years from the end of the Fetret Period, which started with the Battle of Ankara between Yıldırım Bayezid and Tamerlane (1402), to his death. His period is significant from two points of view: Though not fully, the unification of Anatolia was realized and the Ottoman central authority was re-established. Having won the fight against his brothers over the Ottoman throne, Çelebi Mehmed spent all of his efforts for unifying Anatolia. During this period he also suppressed the rebellion of Şeyh Bedreddin, the son of the Qadi of Simavna, which caused social strife. He also dealt with construction works and paid attention particularly to public improvements in the Anatolian and Rumelian parts of the country. In this regard, he continued to attach importance to Bursa even after moving to Edirne, the new capital. Çelebi Mehmed was a peace-lover, but also a combative and foreseeing person.
