Abstract:
Bu çalışmada, hasat sonrası depo çürüklüğüne neden olan Penicillium expansum fungusunun elma çeşitlerinden Golden Delicious üzerine inokulasyon öncesi ve inokulasyon sonrası olmak üzere kekik yağı uygulamasının etkinliği test edilmiştir. Çalışmada kaynatılmış fungal ekstraktın elma meyvelerini patojen etkisinden koruyup koruyamayacağı da denenmiştir. 600 ml fungal ekstrakt 100°C de 1 saat boyunca kaynatılmış ve elmaların yüzeyine uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca, kekik yağı etkinliğini test etmek amacıyla, elmalar, içinde 2 ml kekik yağı bulunan kapalı bir ortamda 10 gün süre ile inkubasyona bırakılmıştır. Fungal inokulasyon öncesi kekik yağı uygulamasının koruyucu özelliği etkin bulunmuş ancak kaynatılmış fungal ekstrakt etkili bulunmamıştır. Kekik yağı uygulaması meyvelerin kalite ve kantite parametrelerini bozmadan fungusit uygulamasına yakın değerde etkin bulunmuştur. İnokulasyon öncesi kekik yağı uygulaması meyvelerin proteaz enzim seviyesini yaklaşık %50 oranında düşürmüştür, bu durum meyvelerin raf ömrünün uzatılması ile de teyit edilmiştir. Bu çalışma ile kekik yağı uygulamasının meyveler üzerine etkinliği pestisit kullanılmadan başarılmıştır.
In this study, the effect of thyme oil apple variety on Golden Delicious before and after inoculation with Penicillium expansum, the causal agent for post harvest decay. Also, the effect of boiled fungal extract was tested for the possible prevention of the disease occurence. Approximately, 600 ml of fungal extract was boiled for 1 hour at 100 °C and applied to the surface of apples. In addition, in order to test the efficacy of thyme oil, the apple fruits were incubated for 10 days in a closed environment with 2 ml of thyme oil. Thyme oil application before the fungal inoculation was found very effective while boiled fungal extraxt had no beneficial effect. The efficacy of thyme oil was close to the effect of preventive fungicide application, yet the quality and quantity parameters were not deteriorated. The application of thyme oil decreased the protease enzyme level of fruits by about 50% which corresspondent with the increase of shelf-life of the apple variety. With this study, the efficacy of thyme oil on apple fruits were sustained without using fungicides.
