Abstract:
Bu çalışmanın konusu, Göbeklitepe özelinde arkeolojik sit alanlarının destinasyon pazarlamasındaki önemini vurgulamaktır. Amaç Göbeklitepe ve diğer arkeolojik sit alanlarının Şanlıurfa turizmine olası katkılarının analiz edilmesidir. Araştırmada, Şanlıurfa'daki Göbeklitepe ve diğer arkeolojik sit alanlarının potansiyeline vurgu yapılarak, ören yeri pazarlama stratejileri geliştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Kentte başarılı bir şekilde ören yeri pazarlaması yapılması için Göbekitepe gibi ören yerlerine gelen turistlerin görüşleri önemlidir. Bu bağlamda Göbeklitepe'ye gelen turistlerin görüşlerinin elde edilmesi için anket uygulaması yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, Göbeklitepe'ye gelen turistlerin henüz kazısı yapılmamış diğer ören yerlerini de ziyaret etmek istediklerini, katılımcıların %28'inin Göbeklitepe'yi aile ve arkadaş çevresinden duyduğunu, % 21'inin ise Göbeklitepe'yi ilk olarak internet kaynaklarından duyduğunu göstermektedir. Kent açısından etkili bir ören yeri pazarlaması yapılması için turizm sektöründeki tüm paydaşların kamu, özel sektör, sivil toplum kuruluşları ve yerel yönetimlerin bütüncül bir anlayışla faaliyet göstererek kentteki arkeolojik sit alanlarını turizme kazandırması gerekmektedir.
The subject of this study is to emphasize the importance of archaeological sites in destination marketing, with a specific reference to Gobeklitepe. The aim is to analyze possible contributions of Gobeklitepe and other archaeological sites to the tourism sector in Sanliurfa. In this research, it is aimed to develop archaeological site marketing strategies by emphasizing the potential of Gobeklitepe and other archaeological sites in Şanlıurfa province. In order to run a successful archaeological site marketing strategy in the city, opinions of the tourists who have been to archaeological sites like Gobeklitepe, are very important. In this respect, a questionnaire was applied to obtain the opinions of tourists visiting Gobeklitepe. The data obtained show that the tourists visiting Gobeklitepe also want to visit other archaeological sites that have not been excavated yet. It is also demonstrated that 28% of the participants heard Gobeklitepe from their family and friends while 21% of them first heard Gobeklitepe from internet sources. In order to run an effective archaeological site marketing strategy for the city, all stakeholders in the tourism sector, including public and private institutions, NGOs (Non-Governmental Organization) and local administrations, must act in collaboration so as to bring archaeological sites in the tourism sector.
