Meşrutiyet'ten Cumhuriyet'e Adana'da nüfus hareketleri (1876-1923) / Population movements in Adana from the Constitutional Monarchy till the republic (1876-1923)

Abstract

Çalışmanın konusunu, Adana kent tarihinin ele alınmasıyla birlikte I. Meşrutiyet'in ilanından başlayıp Cumhuriyet'in ilanına kadar geçen süre zarfında aldığı göçler, nüfus hareketleri ve bu olayların neticesinde meydana gelen nüfus popülasyonlarında ki değişimlerin gözlenmesi oluşturmuştur. Çalışmanın öncelikli amacı; belirtilen dönemde Adana ilinin yoğun göç hareketlerine sahne olmasıdır. Meşrutiyet'ten itibaren bölgeye yapılan göçlerin en büyük ayağını Kırım ve Kafkaslardan yapılan göçler oluşturmuştur. Kafkas halklarından Nogaylar ve Çerkezlerin yanı sıra; Çeçenler, Lezgiler, Ermeniler, Gürcüler ve Türkmenler kitleler halinde vilayete göç etmişlerdir. Göç hareketlerinin bir diğer ayağını da 1909 Adana Olayları, 1915 Ermeni Tehciri ve 1923 yılında Yunanistan ile yapılan mübadele gereği Adana'ya gelen mübadiller oluşturmuştur. Adana vilayeti birçok göç hareketine sahne olmuş, bölgeye yapılan göç hareketlerinin ve iskân edilen muhacirlerin bu bölgeyi seçmeleri veya gönderilmeleri tesadüfi olmayıp belli başlı etkenler neden olmuştur. Öncelikle Adana halkının göçmenlere hoş görülü davranması ve iyi bir ev sahipliği yapmasının yanı sıra 1859 yılında kurulmuş olan İskân-ı Muhacirin Komisyonu göçmenlerin yerleştirilmesinin nizam ve tertip dâhilinde gerçekleştirilmesi açısından büyük fayda sağlamış ve Adana'ya göçler bu doğrultuda gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu bağlamda arşiv tarama yöntemi kullanılarak birincil ve ikincil kaynaklara ulaşılmış, salnâmeler ve dönemin gazeteleri ile birlikte şeriyye sicilleri incelenerek elde edilen verilerin pekiştirilmesi sağlanmıştır. The subject of this study was the observations of the history of the city of Adana and the observations of the changes in the population movements and the population that took place during the period from the announcement of the 1st Constitutional Monarchy to the declaration of the Republic. The primary purpose of the work is the scene of intensive immigration movements of Adana in the mentioned period. From the Constitutional Monarchy, immigration made from the Crimea and the Caucasus constituted the greatest pillar of the migrations made to the region. Besides the Nogays and Circassians from the Caucasian peoples, Chechens, Lezgians, Armenians, Georgians and Turkmens immigrated to the cities in masses. Another pillar of the migration movements was the 1909 Adana Events, the Armenian Deportation in 1915 and the extramarital migrants from Adana in 1923, which had been exchanged with Greece. The province of Adana has been the scene of many immigration movements, the immigration movements made in the region and the resettled refugees have not been chosen by chance or sent to this region. First of all, the people of Adana were pleased with the immigrants and made a good host, as well as the Iskân-ı Muhacirin Commission, which was established in 1859, had great benefit in terms of realizing the placement of the immigrants within the order and arrangement and immigration to Adana was realized in this direction. In this context, primary and secondary sources were reached by using archival scanning method, and the data obtained by examining the annuals, the sharia court records and the papers of the period.
