Abstract

Bu çalışma ile 214 Numaralı Urfa Şer'iye Sicili'nin (H. 1287-1288/M. 1870- 1871) 163-436 sayfalar arası transkripsiyonu ve değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Sicil'in analizi ile Urfa şehrinin idarî, sosyal ve iktisadî tarihini aydınlatması amaçlanmıştır. Bu çalışma sonucunda, Urfa şehrinin demografik yapısı, hukukun işleyişi ve dini/etnik unsurlar hakkında bilgiler elde edilmiş ve farklı dinlere mensup kişilerin barış ve güven içerisinde yaşadıkları tespit edilmiştir. Müslümanlar ve gayr-i Müslimlerin hukuksal güvencelerden eşit ölçüde yararlandıkları ve farklı dinlere mensup kişilerin birbirlerine kefil ve vekil oldukları, borç ilişkilerine girdikleri belirlenmiştir. It was aimed to illuminate the administrative, social and economic history of Urfa Province through the analysis of the records. As a consequent of this study, information on the demographic structure, functioning of the law and the religious/ethnic components of Urfa Province was obtained; and it was also established that people of different religions lived in peace and security in the province. It was determined that Muslims and non-Muslims were equally benefited from legal security and that people of different religions were guarantors and representatives of each other and entered into debt relations.
