Abstract:
Bu çalışmanın konusunu, Uzaktan Algılama (UA) ve Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri (CBS) teknikleri kullanılarak Şanlıurfa şehri ve yakın çevresinde şehirsel gelişimin arazi kullanımına etkisinin incelenmesi oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, 1985-1990-2000-2015 dönemlerine ait hava fotoğrafları ve uydu görüntüleri kullanılarak Şanlıurfa şehri ve yakın çevresinde şehirsel gelişiminin arazi kullanımına etkisi dönemler itibariyle ortaya konularak yerleşim alanlarının hektar (ha) birimi düzeyinde gelişimini tespit etmektir. 1985-1990-2000-2015 yıllarına ait uydu görüntülerinin analizi sonucunda, dönemler itibariyle, şehirsel alanın yerleşme profilleri belirgin bir şekilde ortaya konulmuştur. Bu profillere göre Şanlıurfa şehrinin (1985'den 1990'e, 1990'dan 2000'e, 2000'den 2015'e kadar olan dönemlerde) alansal olarak çok hızlı yayılarak büyüdüğü tespit edilmiştir. Bu tespitler çerçevesinde şehrin alansal büyümenin en belirgin olduğu yönler ve söz konusu bu yönlerde ortaya çıkabilecek sonuçlar değerlendirilerek daha sağlıklı kentsel gelişim alanları tespit edilmiştir. This study examines the effects of urban development on land use in Sanliurfa city and its immediate surroundings through Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques. This study aims to identify the development of residential areas in terms of hectare (ha) presenting the effects of urban development on land use in Sanliurfa city and its immediate surroundings by use of the aerial photographs and satellite images which belong to 1985-1990, 1990-2000, and 2000-2015 periods. The analysis of satellite images which belong to 1985-1990-2000-2015 years has clearly revealed the settlement profiles of urban areas. These profiles have indicated that the area of Sanliurfa city expanded quickly (from 1985 to 1990, from 1990 to 2000, and from 2000 to 2015). In the light of these findings, better urban development areas have been identified by evaluating the most significant aspects of area growth in the city and the probable results of these supposed aspects.
