Abstract:
Kangal Termik Santrali'nde aşırı miktarda uçucu kül birikmektedir. Bu uçucu kül, kimyasal özellikleri nedeniyle ASTM C 618'deki sınıflandırmaya uymamaktadır fakat bağlayıcı özelliğe sahiptir. Yüksek miktarda serbest kireç ve sülfat içerdiğinden, beton yapımı uygulamalarında kullanılmamaktadır. Bu santralde üretilen uçucu kül, depolama alanlarına terk edilmekte ve ciddi çevre ve sağlık sorunlarına sebep olmaktadır. İhtiyaç duyulan yeni depolama alanları da ilave maliyetler getirmektedir. Bu santraldeki uçucu kül, suyla nemlendirildikten sonra konveyörlerle atık depolama alanlarına taşınmaktadır. Suyla nemlendirildiğinden, bu depolama alanlarındaki uçucu kül hidrate olmuş bir yapıya sahiptir. Depolama alanındaki uçucu külün hidratasyon olayı, yağmur ve kar suyu yardımıyla da devam etmektedir. Böylece, uçucu külün uzun süreli hidratasyon süreciyle, içerisindeki serbest kireç miktarı azalmaktadır. Bu tez çalışmasında, normal ve hidrate uçucu küller karıştırılarak yığma yapı blokları üretildi. Üretilen blokların basınç dayanımı, su emme, kılcal su emme, yoğunluk, boşluk miktarı ve ısıl iletkenlik değerleri belirlendi. Testlerden elde edilen sonuçlar, bu malzemeleri kullanarak blok üretilebileceğini göstermiştir.
A large amount of fly ash has been accumulating in Kangal Thermal Power Plant. This fly ash does not conform to ASTM C 618 classification because of its chemical properties but it has self-cementing property. It has not been used in concrete making applications because it contains high amount of free lime and sulfate contents. The fly ash produced in this plant has been abandoned to the landfill sites and has caused to serious environmental and health hazards problems. The needed new landfill sites have also been bringing extra costs. The fly ash in this plant has been conveyed to landfill sites by belt conveyors after humidified by water. The fly ash in these landfill sites has a hydrated nature because it has been humidified. Hydration process of fly ash in landfill site has also been continuing by rain and snow waters. Thus, the free lime content of fly ash has been decreased because of its long hydration process. In this thesis, the masonry blocks were produced by mixed the normal and hydrated fly ashes. The compressive strength, water absorption, sorptivity, density, porosity ratio and thermal conductivity values of blocks produced were determined. The results obtained from tests showed that block could be produced by using these waste materials.
