Abstract:
Halka arz kavramı ortaya çıktığı günden bugüne şirketler için ek finansman sağlamada çok büyük bir rol oynamaktadır. Borçlanma yoluyla sağlanamayan fon, halka açılmak suretiyle halktan sağlanmaktadır. Halka arzların henüz borsada işlem görmeye başlamamış şirketler tarafından ilk kez ya da halihazırda borsada işlem görmekte olan şirketler içn dönemsel olarak gerçekleştirilmeleri beraberinde birtakım umulmayan durumlar ortaya çıkartmıştır. Dünya literatüründe hala tam anlamıyla net bir cevap bulunamayan soru; ilk halka arzlar ve dönemsel hisse senedi arzlarının yatırımcı üzerindeki etkisinin kısa ve uzun vadede ne olduğudur. Çalışmada 2000-2004 yılları arasında İMKB'de gerçekleştirilen 44 ilk halka arz ve 34 dönemsel hisse senedi arzının uzun vadede yatırımcısına sağladığı getiri tespit edilmiştir. 12. ay, 24. ay ve 36. ay getiri oaranları sırasıyla ilk halka arzlar için; -0,31, -0,42, -0,92, dönemsel hisse senedi arzları için ise; -0,19, -0,26, -0,58 olarak bulunmuştur. İMKB'de gerçekleştirilen ilk halka arzların ve dönemsel hisse senedi arzlarının uzun dönemde negatif getiri sağladığı tespit edilmiştir.
Since the public offering concept has been appeared, it has been playing a significant role in providing additional funds to the firms. The fund which can not be provided by getting into debt, provided from public by IPOs and SEOs. The public offerings that is being applied by firms, which has been nonquotationed to the stock exchange yet, and presently listed in stock exchange, has been introducing some unexpected situations. The mystery which hasn?t resolved yet is; what the impact of IPOs and SEOs on investors in short and long term is. In this study, the return of 44 IPOs and 34 SEOs which were offered in Istanbul Stock Exchange during 2000-2004 were investigated. The 12. month, 24. month and 36. month returns of IPOs were -0,31, -0,42, -0,92 respectively and 12. month, 24. month and 36. month returns of SEOs were -0,19, -0,26, -0,58 respectively computed. As conclusion; the IPOs? and SEOs? return in IMKB is negative in long term.
