İbnü'l Esir'in(1160-1232) el-Kamil Fi't-Tarih adlı Eserine göre Haçlı Seferleri / Crusades in Ibn al-Athir's al-Kamil fi al-Tarikh

Abstract

Bu çalõşma yazar İbnü l Esir in el-Kamil fi t-Tarih adlõ esrinde Haçlõ Seferlerinin işlenişinin bir kritiğini yapmõştõr. Giriş bölümünde Haçlõ Seferleri nitelik olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Papalarõn teşvik ve yönlendirmesiyle oluşan bu savaşlarõn dini özelliği dile getirilmiştir. Tezde, tarihçinin dile getirdiği Haçlõ Seferleri ile ilgili konular başlõklar halinde bir araya getirildi. Örneklem olarak bu seferlerde öne çõkan üç olay üzerinden yazarõn tarihçiliği değerlendirildi. Kudüs ün Haçlõlar tarafõndan fethi ve tekrar Müslümanlara geçişi ile Antakya nõn kuşatõlmasõ incelenilen konulardõr. Son olarak Haçlõlarla Müslümanlar arasõnda meydana gelen kimi olaylar ve ilişkiler incelenmiştir. Bu incelemeden yazarõn Haçlõ Seferlerine bakõşõnõ çõkarõrõz. Çalõşmanõn başõnda ayrõca Yazarõn Haçlõ Seferlerine yaklaşõmõnõ irdeledik. Bu yaklaşõm yazarõn kendisine akseden gününün Haçlõ Seferleri yaklaşõmõdõr. Onun yaklaşõmõnõ etkileyen bilgiler çoğu zaman eksik ve yetersizdir. Buna mukabil giriştiği anlamlandõrma çabasõ da eksik kalmaktadõr. Hem Hõristiyanlar hem de Müslümanlar için en önemli tarihi olaylardan biri olan Haçlõ Seferlerinin önemli bir bölümünü kendisi hayatta iken müşahede etme ve yazma imkânõna kavuşan yazarõn tanõklõğõ tarihçilik için önemlidir. Bu yönüyle el-Kamil fi t-Tarih haçlõ seferleri için değerli bir kaynaktõr. Yazar her ne kadar yaşanõlan olaylarõ bütün boyutlarõyla aktaramamõş ise de Müslüman dünyasõnõn olaylara bakõşõnõ aktarabilmiştir This study critically examines the handling of the Crusades in Ibn al-Athir s al- Kamil fi al-Tarikh. In Introduction, the Crusades have been evaluated characteristically. Developed by the encouragement and direction of the Popes, the religious aspects of these wars have been voiced. The events that were dealt with by the historian have been put together chronologically in the thesis. As exemplary, three events that come out as signifiers have been chosen to examine the historiography of the author. The capture of Jerusalem by the Crusaders and its recapture by Muslims and the Antioch siege were the subjects studied. Finally, some events and relations that took place between Muslims and the Crusaders have been examined. As a result of these studies, we deduced the author s view on the Crusades. Additionally, at the beginning of the work, the author s approach to the Crusades has been scrutinised. This approach looks similar to the approaches of the day the author has inherited to the Crusades. The information made up his approach is mostly inaccurate and insufficient. Consequently, his endeavour of comprehension remains to be also insufficient. It is widely accepted that one of the most important historical events both for Christians and Muslims were the Crusades. Thus, as someone who witnessed and penned down the significant parts of the Crusades, the author s view of them is important for historiography. From this perspective, al-Kamil fi al-Tarikh is an important resource for the Cursades. Although, the author was not able to cover all aspects of the events that took place, he portrayed the Muslim world s view on the events.
