In this study, local genotypes grown in Birecik and Gaziantep regions were used. In the study, it was aimed to obtain haploid plants by morphological characterization and anther culture studies in Şanlıurfa Birecik (HBBP, HBMP, KGMP, HGMP) and Gaziantep region (HBTAP and HBUAP) local genotypes. In addition, Yamula variety grown in Kayseri region was used as a control. As a result of dendogram analysis, it was determined that HGMP-KGMP, HBBP-HBMP, HBTAP-HBUAP genotypes were the closest genotypes to each other. It was determined that Yamula genotype formed a different group, but this genotype showed more similarity with HBUAP-HBTAP genotypes in terms of fruit color, fruit flesh color and plant form. According to the results of anther culture studies, anthers of all genotypes developed and embryos were obtained from these anthers. The highest embryo formation was obtained from HBBP with 8.8%, and the lowest from Yamula and KGMP genotypes with a rate of 0.8%. Considering the plantlet formation, the highest rate of conversion to plant was obtained from HBBP and HGMP genotypes with a rate of 1.6%, and this rate was found to be 0% in the lowest HBMP and HBTAP genotypes.en_US
