Birleşik Krallık'ta Neoliberalizm, finansallaşma ve eşitsizlik / Neoliberalism, financialization and inequality in the United Kingdom

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı 1970'li yıllardan bu yana Birleşik Krallık'ta uygulanmakta olan neoliberal politikaların sosyal ve ekonomik etkilerini ortaya koymaktır. Bu politikaların köken olarak klasik liberalizm ile ilişkisi incelenmekte ve neoliberal politikaların tamamlayıcı parçası olarak finansallaşma kavramı açıklanmaktadır. Bulgular, Birleşik Krallık'ta neoliberal politikaların devlet müdahalesini azaltmadığını, bunun yerine kamuyu yeniden yapılandırdığını ortaya koymuş, neoliberal politikaların hanehalkı gelirlerinin finansallaşmasının ardında yatan ana neden olduğunu göstermiştir. Neoliberal politikalar ve finansallaşma sonucunda Birleşik Krallık'ta ekonomik ve toplumsal eşitsizliklerin arttığı tespit edilmiştir. Anahtar Sözcükler: Birleşik Krallık, Neoliberalizm, Finansallaşma, Eşitsizlik Aim of this study is to expose social and economic effects of neoliberal policies that are being put into practice since 1970'ies in the United Kingdom. Relations of these policies with classical liberalism as their origination are examined. And financialization as an integral part of neoliberal policies is explained. Evidences suggest that neoliberal policies did not lead to a reduction of government intervention in the United Kingdom. Instead, these policies led to restructuring of government. And it shows that neoliberal policies are the main reason behind the financialization of household income. It is found out that social and economic inequalities increased in the United Kingdom as a result of neoliberal policies and financialization.
