Mardin ili zeytin yetiştiriciliğinde iyi tarım uygulamaları potansiyelinin değerlendirilmesi / Evaluation of potential of good agricultural practices in Mardin olive cultivation

Abstract

Tarım uzmanlık ve bilimsel hareket etmeyi gerektiren faaliyetler bütünüdür. Son yıllarda İyi Tarım Uygulamaları yurt içinde hızla yayılmakla birlikte pazar olarak da dünya genelinde giderek büyüme kaydetmektedir. İyi Tarım Uygulamaları ürünün üretiminden tüketimine kadar geçen tüm aşamaların kayıt altına alındığı bir tarımsal faaliyettir. Bu tarımsal faaliyet zeytin yetiştiriciliği açısından değerlendirildiğinde zeytin ağacının toprağa dikiminden elde edilen zeytin meyvesi veya zeytinyağının nihai tüketicinin sofrasına ulaşmasına kadar olan süreci; zeytinde doğru çeşit seçimi, dikim yöntemi, budama şekli, sulama, besleme şekli, hasat ve hasat sonrası işlemler gibi birçok süreci içine almaktadır. Bu çalışmada İyi Tarım Uygulamaları açısından Mardin il ve ilçelerinde zeytin yetiştiriciliğinin bugünkü durumunu ve potansiyelini tespit etmek amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışmanın ana materyalini Mardin ilinde zeytin yetiştiriciliğinin en çok yapıldığı Artuklu (Merkez İlçe), Derik, Kızıltepe, Yeşilli ve Nusaybin ilçelerinde 2017 -2018 tarihlerinde zeytin üreticileri ile yüz yüze yapılan 140 adet anket oluşturmaktadır. Yapılan anketlerden elde edilen veriler temel istatistiksel yöntemler ile analiz edilerek zeytin yetiştiriciliğine yönelik veriler elde edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak bu çalışmada, yüzyıllar öncesinde zeytin yetiştiriciliğinin yapıldığı Mardin'de zeytin üreticilerinin temel sorunlarına yönelik çözüm önerileri getirilerek, Mardin'in bu alandaki potansiyeli harekete geçirilip zeytin üretiminde Türkiye pazarında önemli bir aktör konumuna gelebilecek şehirlerden biri olabileceği ortaya konulmaktadır. Agriculture is the whole of activities that require expertise and scientific action. In recent years, Good Agricultural Practices have been spreading rapidly in the country, and the market has been growing all over the world. Good Agricultural Practices are agricultural activities in which all stages from production to consumption are recorded. When these agricultural activities are assessed from the olive growing point of view, olive fruit or olive oil obtained from the planting of the olive tree to the soil reaches to the final consumer of the olive oil process, many kinds of processes such as selection of correct variety of olives, planting method, pruning method, irrigation method. In this study, it is aimed to determine the current status and potential of olive growing in the province of Mardin and its counties in terms of Good Agricultural Practices. The main material of the study constitutes 140 questionnaires made with olive producers in Artuklu (Central District), Derik, Kızıltepe, Yeşilli and Nusaybin provinces where the olive cultivation is the most in the province of Mardin in 2017-2018. The data obtained from the questionnaires were analyzed with basic statistical methods and data for olive farming were obtained. As a result of this study, solutions to the essential problems of Mardin olive producers were delivered, and it was shown that Mardin, where olive farming has been done over the centuries, can become a significant player in the Turkey market in olive production by mobilizing potential in this area.
