Cizre ilçesi yerleşmeleri / The settlement patterns of Cizre district

Abstract

Bu çalışma, 2013-2014 yılları arasında Cizre ilçesi yerleşmelerini incelemektedir. Bu çalışma ile arazinin durumu, iklim özellikleri, yerleşmelerin dağılışı, şehrin gelişimi gibi fiziki coğrafya faktörlerinin tespiti amaçlanmıştır. Bu araştırma, Cizre ilçesinin Dicle nehri ve kollarının yardığı bir topografyada, yüksek olmayan bir plato üzerinde kurulduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca, Cizre şehrinin plato ve dağlık alanda dağıldığı belirlenmiştir. Yerleşim alanlarının kurulmasında ve gelişmesinde ulaşım, ekonomi, sosyal, siyasi ve askeri faaliyetlerin önemli rol oynadığı tespit edilmiştir. 2000'li yıllardan sonra güvenlik şartlarının iyileşmesi ve ekonomik faaliyetlerin gelişmesiyle ciddi değişimlerin olduğu, göç edenlerin geri döndükleri görülmüştür. Terör olayların tamamen ortadan kalkması ile ilçenin sahip olduğu imkânların artacağı öngörülmektedir. It aims to find out the physical geography factors such as land condition, characteristics of climate, settlement patterns and urban development of the city. The research has indicated that the district of Cizre lies on a low plateau across the Tigris River and its tributaries. In addition, it has revealed that the plateau and mountains are the main settlement areas of the city. It has been underlined that transportation, economic, social, political and military activities play an important role in the settlement and in the development of cities. It has also been observed that the improvement of security conditions and the development of economical activities since 2000 onwards brought significant changes to the city and this condition led the people who migrated from the town for various reasons to turn back to their homeland. We suppose that the elimination of the terror activities will bring further developments to the City. Key Words: Cizre, City, Rural Settlements, Dwelling, Settlement
