This study deals with the concepts of 'reason' and 'love' in the works of Avicenna (d. 1037) and in his philosophy. It aims to find out his approach to these concepts. The research has found out that that creatures came into existence and became perfect by means of 'reasons' emerging from "love" in the philosophy of love-reason of Ibn Sina. In addition, it has been found out that in his philosophy, these concepts are mostly used in metaphorical meaning, and that the relationship between the 'love' and 'reason' is not very clear and that the entity called 'love' could be reached only by means of reason. Key Words: Reason, Love, Absolute Being, the First Reason, Active Reason, Creation. | en_US |
